Julie Picarello Lecture
3/25/2010 - 3/25/2010 7 PM

"Mix It Up!"

Polymer clay lends itself to an incredibly wide range of applications, including millefiori caning, sculpting, carving, texturing, faux techniques etc.  The list truly goes on and on!  With the ability to custom mix color palettes and form unique shapes with or without armatures, some artists find that working solely with polymer fulfills their creative needs.

However, using polymer in mixed media pieces allows the artist to bring out the best of multiple mediums.  Combining the strength and purity of metal with the color and flexibility of polymer can result in designs that are quirky yet elegant, sophisticated yet playful.

Join award-winning polymer clay artist Julie Picarello as she demonstrates how the addition of metal accents, rivets and epoxy resins can be used to change and enhance the look of polymer art beads.
