Oct 17, 2009 - Feb 7, 2010: “Rare Bird of Fashion: The Irreverent Iris Apfel” at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA. Open Tues-Sun and holiday Mons from 10 am to 5 pm. More than 80 dramatic wardrobe combinations from the personal collection of style icon Iris Apfel, who mixes haute couture with costume jewelry.
Nov 14-15, Sat-Sun 11AM - 4PM: Atrium Alive! The Art of Fire at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA. Glass artists demonstrate their skills and discuss how objects in PEM's collection influenced their work. Artists and events include: world-renowned glass artist Josh Simpson, lampwork demos by Barbara Newman, Jennifer Geldard, Cynthia Liebler Saari, Kate Fowle Meleney, Carol Bugarin, Beth Williams, Lee Woodbum; glass harmonica player Vera Meyer, Marble Madness, and Faux Stained Glass.
Nov 21, Sat 10AM - 4PM: Polymer Clay Beginners Workshop with Jacki Katz at LACS Seminar Room. Fee: $65/LACS member or $80/non-member Tools available on loan through the Polymer Clay Guild, just bring your favorite colored clay or purchase from Jacki’s stash.
