Brian Robertshaw: Evolution of the Bead Museum in Brattleboro, VT and Tour

So you think you have a lot of beads? Just wait until you see this collection!

Join us on Wednesday, March 20 when Brian Robertshaw, founder and curator of the Lost Foundation shares the story of the Foundation and its educational and preservation mission. We’ll hear how the Foundation evolved and enjoy a tour of the Foundation’s amazing collection.

The Lost Foundation is a Vermont non-profit research and learning center that stewards a vast collection of beads and artifacts – thousands of objects made by and for humans from cultures around the world. The foundation’s goal is to secure, conserve and preserve this valuable treasure and make it available to all people as a source of Education and inspiration and an intimate window into our past. Through their Artifact-Trust, the Foundation works to safeguard thousands of these rare and unique artifacts & ensure their accessibility into the future.

Check out the accompanying photos and be sure to join us March 20 to see more.

Brian Robertshaw has owned and operated Vermont’s premiere bead store “Beadniks” since 1989. He has been researching and collecting beads since the age of 10. He is the director, founder and curator of the Lost Foundation, a non-profit, whose mission is to steward a vast collection of beads & cultural artifacts housed on the lower level of his shop. Brian has worked as an advisor to estates and museums and has lectured on the history of beads. You may also know him from his daily Beadniks “abeadaday” Facebook and Instagram posts featuring an image and information on beads from the Lost Foundation collection. His interests include primitive technology and wilderness living skills.
