Susan (Sue) Underwood has been a lamp worker (glass bead maker) and a Jewelry Designer for over 35 years: “Glass is an expression of my thoughts and ideas – I love the colors, shapes, textures and patterns that can be formed. My love for nature and the Southwest has inspired me to create these little “glass treasures”.
I love creating from the world around me: inspiration from a color combination, a flower from my garden, or an acorn that fell from a tree – all inspire me to create my art. Using custom made glass beads and bright colored wire, make a SPRINGS necklace and earrings in two hours. Your kit will include:
This class includes materials, stringing instructions and use of tools. Students will learn how to layout a necklace pattern, determine proper spacing and length of a necklace as well as how to attach clasps using crimp beads and tools. Participants will also learn how to coil wire to make colorful necklace and earring accents.

This SPRINGS workshop will be followed by a super great trunk show featuring Sue’s amazing glass beads and the Dirk Underwood’s metal work collection. Register above to make a necklace and earrings in two hours, then plan to stay to shop the trunk show and join BDI’s monthly Bead In from 1- 4 PM, where you can work on the project of your choice while socializing with friends. Workshop, trunk show, Bead In – hope you can join us for all or any part of the day.
