Rebeca Mojica is an award-winning jewelry artist, best-selling author, and chainmaille innovator who has been designing with jump rings since 2002. Specializing in vibrant color ombrés, she has opened and closed more than two million rings and has taught thousands of students the art of chainmaille. She is the author of the DIY book, CHAINED: Create Gorgeous Jewelry One Ring at a Time, and her jewelry line is available in indie retailers across the USA. Rebeca has heavily influenced the industry by introducing new weaves and designs recreated worldwide.
The cost for the workshop is $32 for members and $47 for non-members.
The Wiggle Weave is a simple yet impressive project, perfect for first-time chainmaillers. In this workshop, you will first master the foundational skill of opening and closing jump rings, along with key troubleshooting tips for seamless closures. You will then learn the fluid Wiggle pattern (also known as the “Mobius” weave) and create a striking bracelet that most students can finish during the session. Finally, you’ll discover how this versatile pattern can be applied to modify and enhance other chainmaille designs, leaving you with a beautiful, handmade piece and valuable skills to add to your repertoire!

Materials
Here is a Loom demo-ing how to purchase project packs—including requesting custom colors!—and also the pliers Rebeca recommends in case anyone needs to buy them – https://www.loom.com/share/2feb88669de1460bb94cfe895911a89e
Rings
For class, you’ll need a project pack or your own jump rings. The rings in the project packs are 16 SWG 1/4″ (6.4mm inner diameter; B3 size L16). If you already have jump rings, feel free to send an email (customercare@bluebuddhaboutique) if you’d like Rebeca to double-check if they will work for Wiggle!
You can purchase a Wiggle Project Pack in the B3 Etsy shop, in one of 6 ready-made colorways, or pick your own colors. Standard packs are $16 each, and custom color packs are $18. We recommend ordering your kits by January 5th.
Use code WIGGLE15 for 15% off all items in the B3 Etsy shop.
Tools
You will need:
- 2 pairs of pliers (I recommend flat-nose pliers)
- a bead mat or other soft surface to work on
There’s a variety of pliers available in the B3 Etsy shop. Rebeca suggests coating your pliers with Tool Magic, but if you don’t have any or aren’t sure you’ll be doing chainmaille after the class, please don’t fret about getting Tool Magic!

Tutorial
You’ll receive a reminder email 2-3 days prior to class; that email will contain a PDF tutorial for Wiggle.
Prerequisite
No prior experience with chainmaille is necessary! Rebeca will go over techniques for opening and closing jump rings before we dive into making the pattern. Absolute beginners are welcome!
