In this class we will explore the over 5000-year-old art form of glass bead making using the best of modern equipment and supplies.
Over the course of the two-hour class you will learn all the fundamental skills and information needed to produce your own glass beads in nearly any shape or color you can imagine. Students will each have their own workstation, torch, tools, and all supplies and glass provided for them. BDI members who attended the class last May, will focus on adding to the skills learned in the first workshop.
Topics to be covered:
Students will leave with approximately a half-dozen beautiful, handmade glass beads.
A word about the neighborhood: Fiamma Glass is around the corner from Moody Street, known by some as “Restaurant Central”. (In other words, there are loads of good places to have a bite to eat before the class.)
David and Caterina Weintraub are the co-owners and operators of Fiamma Glass Studio. David has been working with glass for over 20 years and Caterina for 15 years. They have each studied with glass masters across the country. Together, they create one-of-a-kind sculptures, and share their love for all things glass by teaching at their studio in Waltham, Ma.
Make your reservations for this class as soon as possible, as spaces are limited.
Workshop is $50.00 for BDI members, if registration and payment are sent to Fiamma Glass by 1/12/19; $55.00 for non-members and registrations received after 1/12/19.
Reservations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
