Zoom Kumihimo Workshop with Yin Guang and Namomi Ellenberg-Dukas on Saturday December 19.
In this workshop participants will learn how to use the ancient art of kumihimo to create a beaded 12-strand necklace with a twist in the braiding. You will have your choice of two different color ways as well as a choice of silver focal pendant.
It is helpful to have some previous experience with basic beaded kumihimo braiding. However, if you are new to kumihimo, you can practice with the many YouTube videos that are available or ask for help at the November Bead-In.

Members $15.00
Guests $40.00 with the option to join BDI, at no additional cost, upon completing and submitting the membership application found on our Membership page.
You will need an internet connection and a device you can use with Zoom (laptop or desktop computers seem to work best). You will receive your Zoom class link, via email, the morning of the workshop.

Yin Guang, who is a long-time member/vendor at Bead Affaire, graduated from medical school in China 30 years ago. She gave up her medical career when she came to the U.S. and began a bead business from her home. Eventually Yin opened a very popular bead store in Watertown, began traveling to local bead shows, and now travels nationally. After 25 years at the Watertown location, Yin closed the store last year. Today she is a jewelry designer, owner of an expanded on-line bead store business, and teacher – doing numerous virtual classes sponsored by stores and societies throughout the US. Most recently she taught three classes during the American Kumihimo Society’s “Virtual Gathering 2020.” Yin combines manual dexterity with a great sense of design and an interest in experimentation. She especially loves to share the technical aspects of beading with all bead lovers!
