Members Meeting & Technique Mini Class

Come to our monthly meeting, featuring a mini class. In this class, members will learn how to make netting encasing pearls or crystals. The technique can be applied to the creation of a beautiful bracelet or necklace.

Materials to Bring

• Approx 150 6mm pearls or bicone crystals (more or less may be needed depending on the size of the wrist)
• Two tubes of size 11 seed beads (one main color and another contrast)
• Fireline 6 lb
• 3 Headpins
• One clasp (I like a larger nautical spring ring clasp, but choose what works for you)

Tools to Bring

• Round nose pliers
• Needle nose pliers
• A size 10 beading needle

I have been working with beads since I was very young. I was given a tube of beads and some flexible wire with which I created rings for myself and friends. At that time I never imagined how those small tiny beads would be used in creating bead weaving patterns and bead embroidery. I love to design and create jewelry using various techniques from stringing, bead weaving and bead embroidery. My first love is bead embroidery. The various bead shapes, colors and sizes of beads available today allow for infinite creativity.
