Stephanie will talk about her journey as an artist – her early influences and how her business was born, then on to the bead and jewelry business she’s nurtured for almost 25 years.
Many BDI members are familiar with her work from seeing her at The Bead Affaire over the years, but her table at that event holds only a tiny portion of what her business and artistry is about. Stephanie will show us dozens of juicy photos of her work and tell us how she’s still expanding her compilation of beadmaking and jewelry techniques. She’ll talk about why she makes certain design choices and how her experiences shape her work.
Stephanie continues to take classes in many media that influence her design, palette and bead-choice. She also teaches small classes at her home that encourage students to bring their bead collection and make pieces they’d not dreamed of before. She’s also entered into the new world of Zoom classes for beading and bead-making too. She’s realized that the balance of learning and teaching is what really helps her thrive.

Stephanie Sersich is a fiber-artist, jewelry designer and glass beadmaker. While she works in several media, her signature jewelry incorporates a mixture of her own lampwork beads, vintage glass, ethnic beads, natural materials and fibers. The “Spiny Knotting” technique she developed allows more beads and small treasures to be bound into a single piece, so each one of the “ingredients” adds a distinct energy that works to complement all the others.
Stephanie lives on the coast of Maine and loves to spend time in her garden and studio, combining different colors and textures, whether beady or floral. For more information and more of Stephanie’s work, visit her website.

Member meetings and programs are free for Members and first-time guests. After attending one meeting we ask that guests join our group ($30/yr) if they wish to attend a subsequent meeting.
This is a virtual monthly Members meeting. RSVP deadline is two days before this event. (RSVP Monday, get link Tuesday, meeting Wednesday).
A Zoom link will be sent the morning of the day before the event to everyone who has RSVP’d.
A Zoom link will be sent only to those who RSVP via the Constant Contact email invitation or the reminder email by using the RSVP button included. Please note that the RSVP button in your email will not work after the deadline.
